Mara’s journey as an Actress and Singer-Songwriter began in New York City. She performs in the U.S., Europe, and Japan and at venues such as S.O.B’s, CAMI Hall, and the Apollo Theater. She has performed with greats like Stevie Wonder, and has worked with renowned Broadway musical directors Michael Dansicker, Kent Dash and choreographer Graciela Daniele.

Mara has also amassed a fast growing list of television, commercial, voice over, film, and theater credits appearing on Madame Secretary and PBS. She enjoys a rich acting career, gracing the stages of some of New York’s most reputable off-Broadway theaters like The Public, Theater Row and Perry Street theater. She also appears in a number of independent films. “The Wannabe”, was awarded best film in HB0’s Latino Film Festival and “Why We Wax” garnered many accolades on the film festival circuit.      

She was also a featured performer for Disney’s tribute to Chita Rivera.  She has released a CD of original music, “Open Windows” (on  which has been met with great enthusiasm and receives airplay on Break Through Radio and on Puerto Rico’s premier radio station - Radio Oro. When she is not performing she facilitates Master classes in voice and arts-in-education workshops.
